Or, What The Thinker Thinks The Prover Proves.
If you believe your own thinking as if it’s real, and search for ‘why…’ and ‘it’s because…’ then you’re clogging up the system, and get gripped and stuck on a merry-go-round of thought.
Because we are creative people, all you need to do is come up with a thought, and then your mind automatically (well, if you let it) generates more thoughts why the original thought must be true. All the evidence pops up in an instant!!!
And because it happens instantaneously we innocently miss our own role in the creation process.
Your mind is completely neutral. It doesn’t care. But point it in a direction, any direction, and it’ll come up with all manner of reasons (or rather more thoughts) to justify your own thinking.
We’re really good at coming up with reasons, and because we came up with the reason, we think they must be true. And then we set about making those reasons true, and usually link those reasons to circumstances that are outside of us and we end up feeling helpless and out of control.
After all, you wouldn’t want to make a liar out of yourself would you??!!
Just noticing and understanding your own role in the thought creation process – and there’s nothing you can do to change it – is enough to stop you falling for the mind-made illusion, and you’ll fall back in to the flow. That’s much more helpful and directly in our ‘control’ 😉
